After receiving the Anne Stokes Gothic Oracle, I spent a week working with it. I read the entire booklet, I pulled cards every day, and did the oracle spreads suggested within the book. I loved that it has a thick book to go with it and came in a sturdy two-part box.
Honestly, I can say I do prefer this oracle over the Anne Stokes Dragon Tarot deck. I think her art works beautifully as oracle cards. They are much darker than I'm used to in oracle cards, but I don't feel as though this takes away from readings in anyway. If anything, this oracle feels like it would work well with shadow work journaling, or shadow work tarot decks where you look a whole lot deeper within yourself. Even the descriptions of the cards tend to pose more internal questions- asking yourself those deeper things we sometimes don't want to ask.
I was very happy with the quality of the cards and the book. Despite the gilding on the cards and the book- after a week of being used there are no chips or blemishes on the gilding and the book has stayed happily intact. I really don't like it when the description books fall apart.
